My name is Azha Simon, and I’m an eighth-grade student who is 13 years old and currently taking Spanish 2. Learning a new language is a great experience because it helps me understand different cultures. Learning Spanish benefits me now and in the future because it can make traveling easier, help me connect with Spanish speakers, and teach me about different traditions, ways of life, and perspectives. It also helps me become more open-minded.
Learning Spanish improves skills like memory, communication, and problem solving. For example, I have used Spanish to talk with peers, and to translate texts (movies, books). It takes patience and practice, so it teaches me not to give up when something is difficult. Spanish is helping me become a better communicator, build stronger social skills, and learn about another culture. These benefits can help me in school, in my relationships, and in future opportunities.
Thank you for reading my column. I hope you enjoyed learning about the benefits of learning Spanish. In my next article, I will share ways I became better at my sport.
