Heather Maxwell features Ghanaian singer, rapper, and songwriter Kirani Ayat. His song, “Guda,” shot in the northern city of Bolgatanga and directed by David Nico-Sey, won the overall best video award at 4sytetv in November and was nominated best video of the year at Vodaphone Ghana Music Awards. Heather met with Kirani Ayat in Accra, where he explained that Guda means “the one” in Hausa. He explains his song is a tale of struggle, perseverance, determination, and the will to succeed, which for him means being the number one afro-trap artist in Ghana.
